Mansfield is a suburb of Boston with a population of approximately 23,761 located in Bristol County and offers residents a dense suburban feel conveniently located between Boston and Providence with the intersections of Interstates 95 and 495 located on the Mansfield-Foxborough town line. The Town includes additional access to Route 140 and Rte 106 with a stop along the MBTA’s commuter rail servicing Providence and Boston. Mansfield also has an airport the Mansfield Municipal Airport that serves small aircraft.
Mansfield’s school system is comprised of a high school, middle school, and several elementary schools, and their teams are nicknamed the Hornets, with the colors green and white.
Mansfield is also the home of the Xfinity Center for concerts and the birthplace of Honey Dew Donuts a regional New England chain of donut shops. There are five conservation areas in the town which comprise the Great Woods Conservation Area, Maple Park Conservation Area, York Conservation Area, Marie Strese Conservation Area, and Sweet Pond Conservation Area. In addition, Mansfield Municipal Electric Department is owned by the people of Mansfield and governed by an elected Board of Commissioners who oversee our local utility.
