Living in Medfield

Medfield is a suburb of Boston with a population of 12,904 based on the 2018 census.  Medfield is in Norfolk County and offers residents a sparse suburban feel located just 17 miles southwest from Boston with the Charles River bordering almost one-third of the town.  Medfield has many recreational activities, community events, and parks to explore such as Rocky Woods,  Noon Hill, and Kingsbury Pond.

The main street area is filled with family-owned businesses and restaurants lining it on both sides, making it the perfect place for a weekend stroll. Notable Peak House, a historic home, sits on the street as well. The original building, built about 1660 but burned in King Philip’s War in 1676, was rebuilt in 1711.

The public schools in Medfield are highly rated as recently as 2017, Medfield was ranked by the U.S. News & World Report as the number 5 ranked school system in Massachusetts.

 

Things to do in Medfield

Take a hike in scenic Rocky Woods or ascend Noon Hill to enjoy treetop vistas, amble around Holt Pond, or follow trails that leads through an adjacent Trustees reservation to the Charles River. Enjoy the many restaurants and shops downtown and grab a coffee from a local cafe..
