Westwood is a suburb of Boston with a population of 16,400 based on the 2019 census. Westwood is in Norfolk County and situated at the junction of Route 95/128 and 93 just 12 miles southwest from Boston and provides an excellent location for its residents with all the elements of a beautiful suburban community. Westwood also has two commuter rail lines and MBTA bus service.
There are five elementary schools, a Middle School, and High School, and many recreational areas and facilities, including numerous conservation areas, playgrounds, ball fields, and an indoor pool facility. The Town also has two libraries, a senior center, Youth & Family Services, and numerous community-sponsored events for the Town’s residents.
Regionally, Boston Magazine listed one of the prominent streets of Westwood, Gay Street, as one of the best streets in the Boston area, and in July 2005, CNN/Money and Money Magazine ranked Westwood 13th on its list of “100 Best Places to Live” in the United States. Its beauty and history consistently draw many of the most successful Bostonians, making Westwood the 20th wealthiest town in Massachusetts.
